Orbit Futures has entered into a Community Authorised Development Partnership with the Subanen Indigenous People of Mindanao. Guided by their Traditional Leader, His Majesty the King of the Subanen People, the community designates certain community directed contributions to be facilitated by Orbit Futures for the purpose of generating development funding in a manner that respects customary law and aligns with the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA, R.A. 8371).
Through this partnership, Orbit Futures enables the Subanen People to utilise their community authorised assets and ancestral resource stewardship practices to create sustainable project funding for Subanen led initiatives. This development pathway supports the Subanen Nation in achieving their long held socio economic aspirations, strengthening cultural resilience, improving community wellbeing, and expanding opportunities for future generations.
A key outcome of this alliance is the Subanen People’s commitment to fund and develop a Subanen–UTCLA Cultural Embassy — a shared Indigenous diplomatic and cultural institution designed to unite, honour, and showcase the deep heritage of both the Subanen Tribes of the Philippines and the Aboriginal Nations of Terra Australis. This Cultural Embassy will serve as a centre for cultural exchange, inter Indigenous diplomacy, knowledge stewardship, and the celebration of ancestral identity.
All activities under this partnership remain community driven, culturally grounded, and development focused. Orbit Futures acts solely as a facilitator under Subanen customary authority, ensuring that every initiative is aligned with Indigenous governance, community priorities, and the broader network of Indigenous Nations engaged through the UTCLA Treaty partnership.
